2024, visual literacy, branding, visual analysis
For this project, we were given six weeks to create a book on a topic of our choice. I selected sustainability in fashion, a subject I’m personally passionate about.

my take on sustainable fashion

The project culminated in a 68-page book crafted from ESG-approved paper with a threaded spine, reflecting the sustainability theme.

It provides an in-depth analysis of Patagonia, Nike, and H&M’s sustainability campaigns,
exploring sustainable fashion and potential solutions from my unique perspective.

process

i) concept to creation

My goal was to create something cohesive, meaningful, and worth being proud of. The journey involved extensive research, meticulous image curation, and in-depth analysis.

ii) typography with purpose

Selecting the right fonts to convey our message is always an exciting part of the design process.

For this project, I chose Shantell Sans for headings and logos, drawn to its playful essence designed to "inspire others to have fun with writing and words." Similarly, I wanted to show that sustainability can be fun, trendy, and light-hearted.

For body text, I opted for Poppins, a font rooted in "pure geometry, particularly circles." Its design subtly reflects the circular nature of fashion - a concept championed throughout the book.

ii) curated palette

Green: A muted, faded tone to highlight the themes of reuse and repair.

Blue: A saturated, darker shade to reflect the seriousness of sustainability while maintaining its connection to environmental efforts.

Brown: Associated with the earth and vintage products, representing a vision for a sustainable future through reuse.
