2023, personal project, branding, family, friends, fun
In the summer of 2023, I was eager to channel my energy into a meaningful project. At the time, thrifting was a growing trend - and still is.

The idea was to
challenge norms by inviting older adults to model thrifted garments, breaking away from the typical practice of using young adult models. Collaborating with my friend Sebastian, we brought this vision to life in wellworn.wornwell without any digital marketing or business experiences.

outcome

a memorable first project

The response to our launch video on @wellworn.wornwell surpassed our expectations, especially since its our very first post. With lots of support from friends - special thanks to Laywen, Jordan, and Klennan for their help with the photoshoot - and FAMILY!, we saw this as a successful first passion project with many shirts sold.

While we loved the process, we ultimately decided to pause the project as we realised this wasn’t the market we wanted to pursue. It was an amazing experience nonetheless and remains a core memory for us. Read on to find out more about the project.

our name

well-worn: aged, showing signs of extensive use.
worn well: to still remain functional after long periods of use.

These two phrases resonated deeply with the essence of thrifting. We also loved how the name reads the same forwards and backwards, both horizontally and vertically - adding a playful yet meaningful touch to our brand.

branding

We ensured consistency across our Instagram page by using uniform fonts, colours, tonality, and noise/grain overlays, which we felt enhanced the “thrifted” aesthetic.

At the same time, we infused our posts and messages with personality, making the brand uniquely ours and a reflection of the fun we had throughout the project.
